"Learning to recognize and
follow God's leading in your life"
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hear from God more regularly and more personally? Have you observed other Christians who apparently are hearing from God in fresh ways and are experiencing the joy and boldness that springs from that? Have you perhaps thought that this level of Christian experience is beyond your grasp? Regardless of what you may have formerly thought, hearing fresh words from God is something God intends for all His people!
One BIG thing that cannot be denied in the Bible is that God has always spoken to His people. How He speaks is varied, but THAT He speaks is certain. In the New Testament, Jesus made some very bold claims about how His sheep would hear His voice:
…The sheep listen to His voice. He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. When He has brought out all His own, He goes on ahead of them, and His sheep follow him because they know his voice…
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:3-4, 27)
In this three part series, among other things we will learn how to listen for God's voice, how to posture ourselves to hear from God, how cultivate a sensitivity to His voice, how to make sure you are not led astray, and how to minister to others after hearing from God. Every area of your life and ministry to others can be benefitted from hearing fresh words from God! When God speaks it does not have to be sensational or hyper spiritual and it will never contradict the Scriptures. This is the inheritance of all of God's kids!
The series will culminate with two nights of special ministry on Thursday and Friday, March 4-5, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Pastor Mark Caulk, of Winding Creek Community Church (a sister church in Grace Network), will be our guest minister. Pastor Mark is a delightful speaker who has a keen sense of hearing from the Lord. He will teach, demonstrate, and train us how to minister more "prophetically" to one another in the church. The apostle Paul said, "But one who prophesies speaks to men for encouragement, edification, and comfort." (1 Cor. 14:3) This will help us connect "hearing from God" with life-giving ministry to others.
We believe that this series and the follow up meetings with Pastor Mark will be a milestone not only for our church but for many individuals in our body. It will help equip us to be much more fruitful in our relationship with Christ and one another. Childcare for small children will be provided. Please mark your calendars now!
